Vice Chairman Sam Wilhelm told
News Seven the board went into closed
session to discuss the duo's
performance.

Last night, members then voted

5 to nothing to fire Tammy Stephenson
and Rick Hall.

Wilhelm said their performance
has been a long running issue and that
it was in the county's best interest to
relieve them immediately.

Supervisors will meet this
afternoon to discuss the situation
further.

Washington National Monument.

Doctor John Moore at Carilion Pediatric
Medicine in Botetourt County says he
has treated a lot of Swimmer's Ear.

It's an infection that is caused by
getting water trapped in the ear canal.
It's normally treated with antibiotic
drops and is not contagious. If you
have swimmer's ear, Doctor Moore says
you need to stay out of the water until
the infection is cleared which
typically takes three to five days.

Doctor Steven Ridout at Bonsack Medical
Center has also treated patients with
Swimmer's Ear. He says most of those
cases have

been related to lake swimming. To
prevent getting an infection, Doctor
Ridout suggests using silicone ear
plugs while you're in the water. He
discourages trying to clear the ears
with Q-tips or rubbing alcohol because
that tends to do more harm than good.

Vice Chairman Sam Wilhelm told
News Seven the board went into closed
session to discuss the duo's

Wilhelm said their performance
has been a long running issue and that
it was in the county's best interest to
relieve them immediately.

Supervisors in Alleghany
County last night voted 5 to nothing to
fire County Administrator Tammy
Stephenson and her assistant Rick Hall.

Vice Chairman Sam Wilhelm said their
performance has been a long running
issue and that it was in the county's

best interest to relieve them
immediately.

Supervisors will meet this
afternoon to discuss the situation
further.

of supervisors tabled a proposal to
build on land next to the Booker T.
Washington National Monument.

The proposal would have converted
more than 57-acres into a retail
development consisting of shops,
businesses, senior living and
118-townhomes.
