GRAPHIC=Fire Danville firefighters responded

to a blaze at the Y-M-C-A.

Officials say a small part of the
roof caught fire last night.

It was removed, and the flames
extinguished.

The building sustained minor
damage.

There were injuries, but no word
yet on what degree they were.

Officials say the fire was caused
by something hot that was too close to
a combustible object.

GRAPHIC=Business News Wythe County is quenching its thirst

for new jobs--

Gatorade breaks ground this morning
for a new bottling plant near
Wytheville, and one that should bring
250 new jobs to the Mountain Empire.

The plant will serve as a manufacturing
and distribution center for both
Gatorade and Propel Fitness Water.

Parent company Pepsico already runs
a Pepsi bottling plant in Wythe County.

in front of a Roanoke jury instead of

publicity.

File Tape Maverick Thomas and an associate are
accused of hiring a hit man to kill
Thomas' wife.

Lisa Thomas was shot and killed four
years ago, inside the clothing store
the couple owned in Martinsville.

Yesterday in Roanoke Circuit Court,
potential jurors were quizzed on their
knowledge of the case, their views on

the death penalty, and other issues
that could affect their ability to give
Thomas a fair trial.
