Blue Rocks vs. Avalanche Game two of the Avs 20 game
:00 homstand would be rain free.

This one was a defensive pitching
duel throughout. Salem will show the
home folks how it's done with the 5-4-3
double play to keep the Blue Rocks off
of the basepaths. This thing stayed
scoreless until the sixth.

Wilmington would finally scratch
across a run in the top half of the
frame as *CG final Wilmington
1 Scott White hits a sacrifice fly to Salem left field. Zach Borowiak tags at third 2 and scores to make it 1-to-nothing.

But the Avs got 2 in the bottom
of the 8th to win it 2-to-1.

NESN-Red Sox With one out in the bottom of the
:00 third - Boston right-hander Matt
Clement was struck in the head with
this line drive by Carl Crawford.

The wicked shot left Clement
motionless on the mound as his
teammates rushed to his side.

He left the field on a stretcher
and was taken to nearby Bayfront
Medical Center. He never lost
consciousness and the results of his
CAT scan were negative. Clement is
staying overnight in the hospital as a
precautionary measure, and be
re-evaluated in the morning. Boston won
it 10-to-8 in extra innings.
