As many as 300 people, most of them boy
scouts, fell ill from the heat while
waiting for President Bush to arrive
yesterday evening.
But his visit to the Jamboree was
canceled
as a severe storm threatened the site.
Scout officials said last
night that half of the 300 were treated
and released from the Army base's
hospital.
Although the scouts were disappointed
they did not get to see the President,
as As Richmond Bureau Chief Jennifer
Wishon reports, they're still hoping
he'll visit today.
