Lisa's family says the decision
to pursue a life sentence was made in
an effort to spare the young Thomas
boys further heartache.

took another couple of hundred thousand
dollars worth of marijuana out of the
woods - and off the street - today.

deputies to this patch of marijuana
plants growing in the woods off Still
Meadow Road near Callands.

They bagged 88 plants here, and
about 170 elsewhere in the county today
... so far, Pittsylvania leads the
state in marijuana eradication with
more than 13-thousand plants destroyed
this year.

Authorities will keep the area
under surveillance, hoping to catch
whoever was growing the marijuana.

Now they want that evidence
against 58 year old Bob Shell thrown
out.

model and girlfriend, Marion Franklin.

In court today, the defense
claimed a Radford detective sent emails
to Shell under a fake name to get

The defense wants any evidence
collected after the first email thrown
out.

A judge will consider the question next

the same time.

Beachgoers in Huntington Beach
were treated to a test -run of what's
being called the world's largest
surfboard.

The 40-foot monster board was
built by an Australian.

The 35-thousand dollar board
contains nearly half a ton of foam and
240-yards of fiberglass, weighing in at
more than 12-hundred pounds.

Today's jaunt was practice to set
a world record for the number of riders
on one board.

And they did later on .. with 60 people
aboard, breaking the old record of 47.
