news about the Virginia Tech Hokies and
the expansion of the West Side of Lane
Stadium. The university was under the
assumption that the project would be
done on or around the construction
date.

general contractor informed the school
that due to certain schedule slippages
that some elements of the construction
project will continue through the early
part of the season. This will not
afffect the seating at Lane Stadium as
the contractor has said that all seats
as well as the suites will be ready for
the fans. Their will just be some
cosmetic stuff that will need to be
finished. Also, non-game day areas
like offices and academic suites will
not be done by the first game.

had misdemeanor firearms charges
dropped against them. The 2 were due
in court yesterday but the alleged
victim and his family decided against

Linebacker Darryl Blackstock has agreed
to a 3 year deal with the Arizona
Cardinals. Blackstock was one of two
3rd round picks of the team, terms of
the deal were not disclosed.
Blackstock will now report to training
camp with the rest of the team on
Sunday.

Scary news from the N-F-L,
Philadelphia Eagles Defensive End
Jerome McDougle was shot last night
during at attempted robbery. According
to Miami-Dade police McDougle was
approached by 3 masked men while he was
in his Mercedes. The 3 men demanded
his property, they didn't say what
property they wanted, and then shot at
McDougle and the vehicle. McDougle was
shot once in the stomach and airlifted
to the hospital where he underwent
surgery and is listed in Good
Condition.
