Thomas guilty in connection with the

Another woman has come forward
saying she too saw Hamilton watching

fatal shooting that happened early this
morning at 601 Madison Avenue
Northwest. Investigators on the scene
confirm that one person was killed and
another person was injured.

murder-for- hire scheme, a Roanoke jury

The jury convicted Maverick Thomas of

postponed his visit to the Boy Scout
Jamboree yet again. First it was
weather- but - this time it's at the
request of the Scouts.

Wednesday Severe heat and an approaching
storm kept the President from attending
Wednesday night's opening ceremonies.

He was going to make an
appearance last night, but White House
officials say the Scouts asked him to
put off his visit until Sunday.

Scouts say that'll give them time
to review safety procedures and
replenish their resources.


Medical personnel worked overtime
Wednesday night treating some 300-
scouts for heat related illnesses.

That after some waited four-
hours in 100-degree temperatures to
hear the president speak.

after a Roanoke woman found a homemade
bomb near her front door.

Roanoke police say they responded
to this Bluestone apartment in
northeast Roanoke around one o-clock
yesterday afternoon.

Terrian Ellinger called police
after she says a threatening note was
thrown inside her home.

Seconds later, Ellinger says a
bomb landed on her porch.

Police arrested three teenagers
near Ellinger's home, but residents in

the area say the boys had nothing to do
with the incident.

a Peeping Tom, is facing a second
charge.

35 year old Ernest Thomas
Hamilton went before a judge yesterday
afternoon on TWO counts of peeping into
an occupied dwelling.

He was appointed an attorney and
has yet to make his 3-thousand dollar
bond.

31 year old Selena Kassab says
she caught Hamilton spying through her
apartment window on South Main Street.

Another woman has come forward
saying she too saw Hamilton watching
her.

His trial is set for September
8th.

A tractor trailer accident in Danville
is affecting the morning commute.

Police say the fully loaded truck
overturned around 2 a-m. The accident
is blocking both southbound lanes of
the Route 29 bypass at South Boston
Road.

Two people were shot in Roanoke this
morning, one fatally.

It happened just after 3 o-clock at 601

today to decide whether a Martinsville
man should be sentenced to death or
