has averaged about 330 T-B cases each
year.
In 2004, the health department's
southwest region reported 22 cases.
In 2003, southwest Virginia had
the lowest number of tuberculosis cases
in the state, and the lowest rate of
infection.

this week upheld the manslaughter
conviction of Timothy Workman.

then had to go to court to defend his
victory.
Now, Keith Jones is giving it all
up.

Jones tells News7 that he will
submit his resignation as the District
Five representative at tomorrow night's
School Board meeting.
It will take effect immediately.
Jones is moving to North Carolina
where he's accepted a teaching job at
North Carolina A-and-T University.
The board will have to appoint
someone to replace him.

Nextel Cup stars will be in
Indianapolis this weekend for the
Brickyard 400.
For the first time ever the race
has a sponsor in Allstate.
But back in 1994 the real first
happened - when the good ole boys and
their stock cars were allowed into the
hallowed grounds of the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway.

Mast rolled into Indy and won the pole
position for the Inaugural Brickyard
400.
It was quite a feat, but nothing
