people may have drowned in the New
River.

Toronto.

injuries, when the Paris- to-Toronto

molesting several little boys in the
city now faces new charges
A Pulaski County Grand Jury
handed up 26 direct indictments against
54 year old Roger Dale Gilbert.
The indictments were unsealed by
the court late last week.
Gilbert is accused of molesting
at least four different boy under the
age of 13.
He's not related to any of them
and one child is mentally handicapped.
Gilbert already faces aggravated
sexual battery charges in Radford.
He's been released on 75-thousand
dollars bond.

weekend, temperatures are heating back
up.

Doctor John Moore at Carilion Pediatric
Medicine in Botetourt County says that
puts children at an increased risk for
heat exposure.
In this edition of "What's Going
Around", Doctor Moore offers some
safety tips.
He says parents should limit the amount
of time their children are in the heat.
Try to keep them inside during the
hottest time of the day, which is
between 11 a-m and 4 p-m. Make sure
they drink plenty of water and re-apply
sunscreen every 45 minutes.

At Bonsack Medical Center, Doctor
Steven Ridout continues to treat
patients with strep throat, but he has
seen signs that it's slowing down.
Also, the new school year is right
around the corner and that means an
increase in school and sports
physicals. Doctor Ridout says you
should schedule a physical if your
child has not had one in the past year
or so. It's a good opportunity to make
sure their vaccinations are up to date
and discuss developmental milestones.

Giles County searchers will get back
to work this morning in the hunt for
two people who may have drowned in the
New River.

at an Arlington hospital.

Giles County searchers will get back
to work this morning in the hunt for
two people who may have drowned in the
New River.

The searchers were called out at 6- 30
last night to the Shumate Falls area
near Glen Lyn.

releasing the identity of a man found
dead in his apartment ... a day after
his fellow tenants had been evicted.

The body of a white male in his
late 40's was discovered by another
resident of this rooming house on
Rivermont Avenue around 11 a-m
yesterday.
Police say the other tenants were
forced to move yesterday but the victim
had been given an extra few days to
leave.
There were no signs of foul play
... an autopsy will be performed later
today.

Crews in Giles County today will
continue to search for two people who
may have drowned in the New River.
They're scheduled to resume the search
of the Shumate Falls area near Glen Lyn
at 7 o-clock.

staff at the Downtown Learning Center
in Roanoke have been exposed to
tuberculosis.
The Health Department says it will
release information later this morning.
In a news release last night,
officials said those exposed at the
center have a low risk of T-B
infection.
