haven't found the body of a 16 year old
swimmer.

searching got underway this morning on
the New River.
The 16 year old from Mercer
County, West Virginia and his 20 year
old brother were pulled under by the
current in the Shumate Falls area on
Tuesday.
Yesterday, divers found the body
of the 20 year old.
Searchers say the water is lower
and visibility is much better today.
Family members also arrived at
the scene today, to thank rescuers.

says a deputy accused of engaging in
sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl
will be placed on leave WITHOUT pay.

arrested today at his home in
Troutville.
He faces several charges
including taking indecent liberties and
aggravated sexual battery. Authorities
say he became involved with a Franklin
County girl in June.

Sheriff Gerald Holt says there
will be an internal affairs
investigation.

of failing in Pulaski, just went up.

Engineers hired by the town now
say it will cost 800-thousand dollars
to fix the spillway on Hogan Dam.
The nearly 90 year old structure
is on a state watch list because it's
in danger of failing if it gets a
significant amount of rain in less than
24 hours.
In 2004 the state asked Pulaski
to look for the money to fix the
problem.
So, far, no funds are available
to start the project.
