Rebecca Hope Wagoner died on June
17th after she climbed inside the
washing machine and her half brother
shut the door.

inserted and trapped her inside.

a Russian submarine stuck 625 feet
underwater to more shallow water.

The Russian Pacific Fleet commander
says there is enough oxygen aboard the
submarine to keep the seven crew
members alive for at least 18 hours.

32-year old Tommy Lee Hamlett
was apprehended just before noon today
in Henry County.

old from West Virginia is over after a
fisherman found a body in the New River
last night.

brother were pulled underwater Tuesday
night in the Shumate Falls area of
Giles County.
The 20 year old's body was found
Wednesday morning.
Divers had searched for three
days, before the fisherman made the

examiner's office to be identified, but
searchers say they believe it is the
missing teenager.

company's cable systems
But one city in western Virginia
is saying, "not so fast."

Hiroshima, Japan.

bombing.
The bombing of Hiroshima and later,

GRAPHIC=Discovery Space shuttle astronauts are
preparing for their return to earth
Monday.

VO-NAT Today they used a massive robot arm
to grapple the payload cargo module and
maneuvered it back into the shuttle.
The module brought with it 15 tons
of supplies. It's taking back tons of
material they no longer need in space.
Managers say they've taken all the
precautions they can and, as far they
can predict, the Discovery is ready for
its return to earth.
NASA spent 1-point-4 Billion
dollars, making improvements to the
program. They
say discovery is one of the cleanest
missions they've ever had.

today 18 colleges and universities
won't be allowed to use the mascots or
terms on their uniforms at any NCAA
tournament after February First.
The NCAA says it doesn't have
the power ban them from alltogether,
however.

Roanoke's Valley View Mall, is raising
people's awareness to colon cancer.

This is the Colossal Colon.
The crawl-through replica was
developed by a colon cancer survivor
and tours the nation, educating people
at each stop about colon cancer and
other colon diseases.
Colorectal Cancer is the second
leading cancer killer in the United
States, but organizers say it is also
extremely preventable and treatable.
Carilion Health Systems brought
the display to Roanoke, and will be
giving out 200-free take home colon
testing kits tomorrow morning.
