Last Week The Health Department says it may
never know whether the two infected got
it at the Downtown Learning Center.
Recently, it was revealed a former
volunteer had an active case of the
disease.
The Health Department points out the
two infected have shown no symptons of
being sick and may never actually

They gathered to pay tribute to the
16 Ohio-based Marines killed in Iraq in
the past two weeks.
Five members of the Third
Battalion, 25th Marines, were killed by
small-arms fire one week ago.
Three protesters stood near the
event holding anti-war signs, including
one that read: "The world can't wait:
Drive out the Bush regime."
The memorial was one of several
scheduled this week in Ohio.

The people of Baghdad have been
hunkering down today -- not because of
insurgent attacks, but because of a
blinding sandstorm.
The storm coated the city with a
gritty opaque haze and canceled a
meeting on the Iraqi constitution.
One Baghdad resident says shops were
closed as if there were no life left in
the city. He said it was as if a
nuclear bomb had fallen.
The Constitution meeting was
postponed because flights were
canceled, keeping participants from
getting to Baghdad.

accepting hundreds of thousands of
dollars in bribes.
The U-S Attorney's Office says the
former procurement officer in the oil
for food program has pleaded guilty to
charges of conspiracy, wire fraud and
money laundering.
He could face up to 20 years in
prison for each charge.

he signed today is the start of "years
of efforts" to solve the nation's
energy challenges.
The measure provides billions of
dollars in tax subsidies to energy
companies. It also requires utilities
to follow federal regulation in an
effort to reduce the chances of power
blackouts
The bill also extends daylight
saving time by four weeks, beginning in
2007.

VO-NAT Todd Bertuzzi has been reinstated
by the N-H-L. Bertuzzi had been
suspended for his cheap shot attack on
then Colorado Avalanche player Steve
Moore who suffered a broken neck.
Bertuzzi needed permission from the
N-H-L to get back on the league and
received after meeting with the
commissioner along with Moore on April
26th.

Nextel Cup Point standings and
officially eliminated from the Chase
for the Championship. You add those
things up and that equals Leffler being
out of a job.

VO-NAT Joe Gibbs racing has fired Leffler
from the 11 car. He finished 33rd at
the Brickyard on Sunday and in his 19
races this season Leffler had yet to
record a top 10 finish. Terry Labonte
will drive the Fed-Ex car this Sunday
at Watkins Glen and possibly a couple
other races for the rest of the season.
Also stepping in will be Gibbs Racing
Busch Drivers J.J. Yelay and Denny
Hamlin for the final 15 races.

its first- ever traffic light.

The light is part of several
significant changes to some traffic
patterns on campus.
The University is also building a
roundabout on Washington Street and
West Campus.
Work on the giant traffic circle
or rotary is well underway and will
include Hokie stone in the center to
keep students from illegally crossing.
Tech officials say all major road
construction should be done by the time
students return next week and long
before the first home football game in
September.
