of Check, is charged with malicious
wounding, and state police say he will
likely face more charges related to the
chase.

This Morning Last night around 11:15, a state
trooper spotted the car driving
erratically near the Rockbridge -
Botetourt County line.
He called in the license plate, and
learned that Floyd County investigators
were looking for the vehicle.
The driver refused to pull over,
but police and sheriff's deputies
eventually stopped the car near exit
150 in Botetourt County.
The driver resisted arrest, and
authorities ultimately used non-lethal
bean bag bullets to subdue him.

knocking the door down,
marshalls placed a call to the room.

The nationwide manhunt led state and
federal officials to Erlanger,
Kentucky-to a motel where the couple
slipped away just minutes before
police arrived.
They left behind their gold
mini-van-the one used to flee
Tennessee.
From there they hopped a ride in a taxi
to Columbus.
And in a odd twist of fate--it was the
cabbie who GAVE the tip.

southwest Virginia is accused of
killing a co-worker with a device that
uses an electric shock to restart the
heart.
A Russell County grand jury indicted
24-year-old Joshua Phillip
Martin this week on a charge of
involuntary manslaughter in the
June first incident.
Prosecutors say Martin put a cardiac
defribrillator to Courtney Hilton
Rhoton's side, and discharged it.
She died three days later.
A preliminary autopsy report listed
the cause of death as electric shock.
The pair worked for Highlands
Ambulance Service.
Lebanon Police Chief Mark Mitchell
says investigators are trying to
determine if the death resulted from
horseplay, an accident, or something
else.
Martin is free on bond pending his
December 14th trial.
He could face up to 20 years in
prison if convicted.

The cruise missile has a range of
more than 300- miles, and is capable of

Residents along coastal areas of
southern Australia are witnessing the
rare event this week.
Even the native kangaroos are having
to adjust to the unusual snowy
landscape.
Officials say the cold weather
follows a warmer than average autumn,
which included the hottest April ever
recorded in Australia.
But the snow probably won't linger
for too long-- temperatures are
expected to rise tomorrow.
