years prison.

QUESTION: Is she still employed by the
county?

Late this afternoon Roanoke
County Administrator released a
statement that referred to the county's
employee handbook.

The policy states employees can
be dismissed for violations and or
criminal conduct that occurs on or off
the job.

Elmer Hodge says the county will
continue to follow this policy and take
the appropriate action.

officers were involved in an accident
early this morning. One has now been
placed on administrative leave.

Police say T. Scott
Shackelford misjudged the turn into a
driveway on Martin Avenue.

His car was rear-ended by W.
Chase Shively.

Police say both off-duty
officers had been drinking.
Shackelford was charged with Driving
Under the Influence and has been placed
on leave pending an internal
investigation.

Officers say Shively's
alcohol intake did not warrant a DUI
charge, but he was cited for failure to
maintain control.

and her young son as they escaped their
burning trailer this afternoon.

Fire broke out at the home in the
Westgate Mobile Home Park on Lakeside
Drive around 12:30.

Two people got out safely, but the
woman suffered burns to her arms when
she went back in to try to put out the
blaze.

She credits her smoke detectors
with saving their lives ... the
detectors were installed last year by
the Lynchburg fire department.

The entire trailer suffered
extensive damage.

HEALTHCHECK 7 ANIMATION of the children and staff from the
Roanoke's Downtown Learning Center for
tuberculosis.

We now have the latest results.
They show three people with positive
skin tests rersults.

Chest x-rays for two of them,

however, show they do not have active
cases of the disease and are therefore
not contagious.

these individuals contracted the
bacteria from a former volunteer who
may have exposed children and staff
over a 10 month time frame.

The investigation is far from over.
Health officials will test everyone
again in about 11 weeks to make sure no

of prescription fraud has died.

Daniel Lineberry suffered an
apparent heart attack Thursday night
while playing basketball.

Theatre are underway.

The 94 year old structure closed
in 1991, but several citizens formed
the group Friends of Pulaski Theatre
and raised money to save the structure.

531 new seats were recently
installed and work is underway on the
stage, balcony and concession area.

Members of the renovation team
hope the theatre will help to
revitalize the entire downtown area.
