They also had the advantage of
playing at their home course of
Blacksburg Country Club.

Salem's Aaron Eckstein was looking
to make a run at the individual title.

He would chip in for birdie on the
par 3 to help his cause, but he came

home in 4th place.

Lanto Griffin of Blacksburg was the
round 1 leader.

Early on, he looked good birdieing
the third hole, but he would finish
second to his teammate Courtney
Ellenbogan who shot 68 to win the
individual title.

Golf itself wasn't the most
important thing to the Golf Team at
William Byrd, which was playing in its
first tournament since the loss of
teammate Josh Hale in a car accident.

Training begins in the bathtub.

Wilmott has made mini- surfboards for
his prodigies, and is also working on a

mouse- sized wave runner.

And it doesn't stop there.

Wilmott has also made a custom-s ized
jet ski, boat and luxury apartments for
the mice to relax in after their hard
day surfing.

He adds that he's never lost a mouse
to drowning, and always makes sure he
dries their fur and eyes when they get
out of the water.
