Avenue taking with it several power
lines.
A few blocks away near the city's
golf course, several trees fell at
Stonegate Manor including this one
which landed in someone's back porch.
City crews are already busy working
to remove the debris.
The storm did knockout power in a few

informant in Danville six years ago has
two men on trial for their lives in
Lynchburg's federal court.
32-year-old Lanny Benjamin Bodkins
and 37-year-old Anthoine Plunkett were
indicted in February for the 1999
murder of Tyree Wimbush.

A grand jury decided NOT to file
charges.

handgun during.
It happened in mid-july in their
home on Rockbridge Road.
The sheriff says she told

It did NOT return an indictment
for second degree murder.

in an accident on I-77 this morning
that brought traffic to a halt.

Troopers say the white car was
traveling south near mile marker 27.

flipped over several times in the

trailer in the northbound lanes.
Troopers say the truck driver
tried to avoid the crash, taking out
several feet of guardrail.
The driver of the car was thrown
from her vehicle.
She and her female passenger were
airlifted to the hospital with what
police are calling life-threatening
injuries.
The road has been re-opened.
