a man shot and killed his wife in her
hospital room-- then fatally turned the
gun on himself.

five miles north of Athens. All
one-hundred-and-twenty one people on
board the flight -- including more than
twenty children on their way to a
soccer tournament -- were killed. And
it seems some of them they may have
frozen to death before the crash.

The Boeing 737 had been on its way from
Cyprus to Athens when radio contact was
lost. Two Greek airforce fighter jets
sent up to intecept it reported that
only the co-pilot could be seen in the
cockpit and he was slumped over the
controls. Later, two people -- perhaps
passengers or cabin crew -- were seen
apparently trying to regain control of
the plane.

The wreckage showed oxygen masks had
been deployed. And reports from the
crash scene talk of the bodies of the

dead being frozen. Presumably there was
a catastrophic loss of pressure and
temperature drop in the plane at
altitude.
