James River.

Emergency crews from Lynchburg,

spent several hours searching the area

murdered- it's the second murder one
family has had to deal with.

VO-NAT 23-year-old Jamie Lavar Penn was


found shot to death in a car early this
morning,

Avenue.

His family remembered him as a
"gentle giant," who was a good brother
and father to his two small children.

He was also remembered as an
amazing football player.

Jamie was a member of the William
Fleming team that played Hampton for
the State Title in 1997.

family has dealt with tragedy.

Jamie's father, Jimmie Lee Penn
was murdered in 1998.

His case is still unsolved.

All 160 people aboard the West
Caribbean Airways jet were killed.

French officials say all of the
passengers were French citizens from
Martinique.

While dozens of bodies are being
pulled from the crash site in a remote

area near the Colombian border, the
searchers are also looking for the
cockpit voice recorder.

The plane was headed from Panama to
Martinique when the pilot requested
permission to make an emergency landing
because of engine problems.

killed today, when their helicopter
crashed in Afghanistan.

It's not yet clear what caused the
crash.

The Afghan president blames a
sandstorm, but Spain's defense minister
isn't ruling out hostile action.

aircraft was shot down.
