informant in Danville six years ago has
two men on trial for their lives in
Lynchburg's federal court.

32-year-old Lanny Benjamin Bodkins
and 37-year-old Anthoine Plunkett were
indicted in February for the 1999
murder of Tyree Wimbush.

investigating a rash of vehicle tire
damages that occured Sunday night.

John Hoover Honda, Barkhouser
Ford, Barkhouser Lincoln/Mercury,

Cook's Automotive, and Woodall
Chevrolet all reported that during the
night, several tires were damaged on
their lots.

Police say the perpetrator used a
small tool to remove the valve stem
cores from the vehicles.

In all thirty-five vehicles and
nearly 150 tires were damaged.

Additionally two vehicles had the
same type of damage on Hermitage Drive.

night on Halifax Road.

The incident happened around
11:40 last night.

The 75-year-old driver arrived at
Oaktree Trailer Park to pick up the
passengers when five black males asked
for change, assaulted the cab driver,
and took an undisclosed amount of money

before fleeing the area on foot.

The Driver was was taken to
Danville Regional Medical Center and
treated for non- life threatening
injuries.

of two women seriously hurt in an
accident on Interstate 77 in Wythe
County yesterday.

Troopers say the women are from
Marrietta Georgia.

in the median before running into a
tractor trailer in the northbound

Troopers say the truck driver
tried to avoid the crash, taking out

are calling life-threatening injuries.

struck off the coast of northern Japan
today.

investigating a rash of vehicle tire
damages that occured Sunday night.

Ford, Barkhouser Lincoln/Mercury,
Cook's Automotive, and Woodall
Chevrolet, all reported that last night
several tires were damaged on their
lots.

Police say the suspects used a
small tool to remove the valve stem
cores from the vehicles.

In all thirty-five vehicles and
nearly 150 tires were damaged.

Two other cars had the same type
of damage on Hermitage Drive.

seven- point- two magnitude earthquake
struck off the coast of northern Japan
today.

shake skyscrapers in Tokyo, nearly 200
miles away from the center.

It also triggered small tsunami
waves.

At least 45 people are reported
injured.


Seventeen were hurt when the roof of
an indoor pool caved in.

Officials say the depth and offshore
location of the quake helped limit the
damage that might have occurred had it
been centered under a city.

car dealerships across town.

night.

The suspects removed the valve
