Danville plant, a move that will leave
about 175 workers without jobs.

The company announced today it will
close its Accessory sewing facility by
the end of this year.

Dan River officials blame U.S.
trade policies for negatively affecting
the textile industry.

They call the closing
"unfortunate," but say it is needed to
remain a "viable company in a very
competitive market."

Job terminations will begin around

the media, focused on trying to win the
big games that they didn't a year ago.
That has lead to more team unity that
may have been born after there final
loss a year ago.

:00 The Bulldogs return 13 starters
this season, including most of their
skill players.

But their top two running backs from
a year ago are gone, so Edwards plans
to spread the field and air it out a
little more in 2005.

OQ=WAS AIR CONDITIONING Virginia Tech has spent nearly thirty

million dollars building four new dorms
in the last decade.

They're all set up like suites,
complete with a living area, and
spacious room.

Students also have access to a number
of lounges and kitchens.

Roanoke College is about to a open a
new one, at a cost of 10 and a half
million dollars.

Students share a living room and a
kitchen, but have private showers, and
their own rooms.

OQ=generations were doing Today's generation also wants more to

do.

So Radford University is about to
open a new eight and half million
dollar student center complete with a
bowling alley and a movie theater.

This may all sound extravagant but
colleges and universities say they have
no choice.

Today's students demand it and if a
school doesn't offer these amenities,
they'll find them elsewhere.
