days, a child has been killed in a car
crash on a central Virginia highway.

The latest crash occurred around
7:15 this morning on Route 460 near

Evergreen in Appomattox County.

State police say a Suburban was
headed west on 460, when it ran off the
left side of the road into the median,
overcorrected, then veered right,
before flipping over several times.

Four people, several of them
children, were hurt in the crash ...
another child was pronounced dead at
the scene.

No names have been released and
state police are still investigating.

Yesterday, a mother and her
8-year-old daughter were killed when
their car hit a truck on Route 501 near
Gladys.

KIMBERLY ON CAM Two men were shot and wounded in
GRAPHIC=Shooting Roanoke early today.



The shootings came about an hour
apart, in different parts of town.

Police found the first victim,

26-year-old Damien Claytor, in the 400
block of Harrison Avenue northwest
around 2 this morning.

Claytor took himself to the
hospital; his condition is unavailable.

Police say 22-year-old Frank
Merchant the Third was shot in the 600
block of Marshall Avenue southwest.
He's listed in good condition at
Carilion-Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

domestic dispute escalated inside a
Wal- Mart.

Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Witnesses say a man stabbed a
female employee, when a customer

intervened, pulled a gun and shot the
attacker.

The incident stunned shoppers.

Two brothers are back in custody--
Satish and Deepak Kalpoe.

However, it's not yet clear if their

evidence to hold them.

Police say the DVD titled
Real Talk is being sold in the city.

China's Wild Animal Zoo is trying to
kick the habit.

She's been smoking for 15 years.

Her mate died recently, which caused
her to increase her habit to seven or
eight cigarettes a day.

Now zookeepers are worried about her
health, so they're trying to feed her
milk instead of cigarettes in a bid to
get rid of her addiction.

She apparently started smoking by
picking up tourists' cigarette butts.

years for Todd Grantham to make. After
playing tackle and guard for the Hokies
from 1984 to 1988, Grantham served on
Frank Beamer's staff until 1995, the
last two years, coaching the defensive
line. He held the same position at
Michigan State, then headed to the
Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans,
before being named the Browns defensive
coordinator 6 months ago.
