FLOODING ACROSS THE CENTRAL GULF COAST.

ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE OCEAN, THE
OCEAN HAS NOW REACHED ACROSS ONE LANE
OF TRAFFIC OVER THE MEDIAN, UP ANOTHER
12 FEET, OVER ANOTHER LANE AND NOW HERE
INTO THIS PARKING LOT.
DESPITE THE WARNINGS, SOME CHOSE TO
RIDE OUT THE STORM AT HOME SOMETHING
THEY QUICKLY REGRETTED.

President Bush and the U-S
Secretary of Energy are now considering
tapping into the nation's petroleum
reserve to help.

production in the Gulf of Mexico
drastically- and the price of oil today
spiked to seventy dollars a barrel for
the first time in history.
This could translate into twelve to
twenty cents more per gallon at the
pump.

nation's oil and about a fifth of U-S
gas production comes from the Gulf of
Mexico.
The storm has caused a loss of about
a million barrels of oil a day and the
largest oil importing terminal in the
Gulf has also stopped taking in new

As Gulf residents braced for the
storm's onslaught this morning, folks
in the Miami area were still trying to
pick up the pieces, after Katrina's
strike there last Friday.
Kids in one hurricane damaged
neighborhood went back to school today
after minor repairs were made to their
classrooms over the weekend.
However, restoring power has been a
block-by-block effort.
As many as 300-thousand customers in
the Miami metro area are still without
power.
Some gathered at Miami's Orange
Bowl to get food, water and other
emergency supplies from the Salvation
Army.

The house fire left Harris with
burns on his face, his hip and his
right forearm. The skin graft to his
right forearm was the toughest.
Yet that was nothing compared to
what lied ahead 10 days later as his
Mom collapsed and died on Christmas
day.
