tunnel for more than 25 years.

Powered by a 15 foot fan, it's mainly
used for research projects, but on this
day its going to simulate hurricane
force winds.

The arrests come in response to the

her murder.


Nielson's lawyers have indicated

Water Safety Council are hosting a
public forum on lake safety tomorrow.

Officials say the accident that
killed Larry and Judi Lewis this month

issues like patrol levels and boater
education.

The meeting starts at one o'clock
at the Smith Mountain Lake Association
office in Moneta - about a half-mile

The house fire left Harris with
burns on his face, his hip and his
right forearm. The skin graft to his
right forearm was the toughest.

Yet that was nothing compared to
what lied ahead 10 days later as his
Mom collapsed and died on Christmas
day.

Even keeled, and amazingly
talented. Harris is one of just four
true freshman who will dress for the
State game, and he's already earned his
way into the two deep roster at field
corner and as a punt returner.

Parham. The red-shirt Junior will be a
starter on the U-V-A defense for the
3rd straight season.

VO-NAT Parham tends to be over-shadowed by

his teammate Ahmad Brooks who was a
finalist for the Butkus Award last
season. Parham, was second on the team
in tackles a season ago only trailing
Brooks. On the field Parham has the
reputation of being an intense player,
that is in total contrast to his
personality off the field.

basically adopted it as their home away
from home - today Hurricane Katrina
took over the Super Dome.

The arena was serving as a
shelter for those who couldn't get out
of New Orleans - unfortunately part of
the roof was ripped off by the
hurricane's high winds and water
started pouring in.

The holes in the roof are about
20 feet long and 5 feet wide.

The building also lost power last
night. Genrators got the lights back
on but not the air conditioning in the
bui;ding.

A toppled tree in Roanoke, will
be replaced.

The 200-year-old tree in the
center of Carolina Avenue fell Saturday
night.

This morning, city crews
continued to cut, remove and chip the
remaining limbs.

But, the work's been slow and a
city forestry inspector says it will
take a few more days to wrap up.

In the meantime, neighbors
continue to watch and wait.

One of the wrinkles in removing
the tree has been a large beehive.

Today keepers used a contraption
to safely remove what they could.

The city says the old tree will
have to be ground up before any
