Christianburg areas left for
Mississippi- They'll work to bring back
electricity for residents.

more.

hammer really fell today, when many
stations raised regular unleaded to
just under three dollars a gallon.

And for the first time, at least in our
region, some prices now begin with the
number "3".

Most of the gasoline distributed
in western Virginia comes by pipeline

from the gulf coast states. And damage
to facilities there has affected the
flow.

Higher prices are expected,
shortages are possible, but some
drivers were trying to keep it all in
perspective.

is because the state reimbursements
rates are so low.

This has left many children without
dental care.

The state is hoping to convince more

raising the reimbursement rates as part
of the smiles for children program.

Up until recently the state only
paid dentists about 50% of the actual

cost for their usual and customary
services.

thousands come out every year to do it.

But they do.

It is the annual Tomatina.. tomato
fight in Spain.

At noon, trucks dump about 130 tons

of ripe plum tomatoes into the streets-

Within minutes everything.. people
included is covered with red slime.

Exactly one hour later- a rocket
fires to signal the end of the fight.

That's when the crowd hoses each
other clean.

About 40 thousand people took part
this year.

Local folklore says this fight
began in the1940's when a food fight
broke out between children near a
vegetable stand in the town square.

The next year they met to pelt
passers-by.
