Warthogs to lose last night to Kinston.
And after winning with its bat in
game one, the Avs would try to score
their defense in game two. First watch
catcher Jeffrey Mackor gun down Bryan

shortstop Edwin Maysonet applies the
tag.

Labor Day weekend. The marquee matchup
takes place Monday Night in Tallahasse
as Miami and Florida State renew their
rivalry between the two winningest
programs of the last 20 years.
Both teams will break in new
starting quarterbacks as the Canes and
Noles open the season against one
another for the 10th time, a concept
that neither coach is exactly sold on.
LARRY COKER/MIAMI HEAD COACH:
BOBBY BOWDEN/FLORIDA STATE HEAD COACH:
NC State opens against Virginia Tech
Sunday. The last time the Pack started
against a top 10 team, the year was
1966, and the defense featured a feisty
linebacker named Chuck Amato.
CHUCK AMATO/NC STATE HEAD COACH:
State lost all four starters in its
secondary from a season ago. It's too
bad Rodney Redd can't suit up Sunday.
The Magna Vista High School athletic
director, was a member of the Pack's
