into Virginia.

gulf coast states to terminals, like
those located in Montvale.
Hurricane damage has affected the
two major pipelines, though the
companies that operate them say they
are working to minimize any

Petroleum Council says conservation
over the Labor Day weekend could help
to avoid a supply crunch.

Nearly 700- thousand Virginians

of Glenn Sherman Thomas.
The medical examiner says Thomas
died of drug tox- icity from cough

20 year old Joshua Paul Coyle is
charged with involuntary manslaughter,
and other charges related to unlawfully
changing an over- the- counter
medicine.
Coyle is currently held in the
Danville City Jail on a half million
dollar bond.

funerals of Shiite pilgrims killed in
yesterday's stampede.
It happened on a Baghdad bridge

a rumor that a suicide bomber was among
the pilgrims.

against actor Robert Blake.

questions from prospective jurors as
from the attorneys.
The case pits Blake against the four
children of his late wife,
murder victim Bonny Lee Bakley.
Their attorney will try to have
Blake found liable for Bakley's death.
Blake was acquitted of murder in a
criminal trial in March of this year.

Yesterday Hokies A-D Jim Weaver and
Cavaliers Athletic Director Craig
Littlepage got together to announce the
formation of the Commonwealth Challenge
during the the 2005-2006 academic year.
Adelphia will sponsor the program
that is designed to promote the rivalry
between the two schools, and enhance
the relationship.
The Challenge involves 21 sports
between the schools -- with points
being awarded for each contest.
The winner gets a trophy that has
red brick to represent U-V-A, and the
limestone of the Hokies.
The trophy will be presented each
fall at the annual football game,
recognizing the winner from the
previous school year
