GRAPHIC=KATRINA AFTERMATH Today President Bush will travel to

the hurricane- battered Gulf

Coast in an effort to boost the spirits
of hurricane victims and rescue

workers.

The visit comes amid growing
complaints that the government's
response to Hurricane Katrina has been

too slow.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross says
hurricane refugees are crowding the
Houston Astrodome.

The dome is giving shelter to more
than eleven- thousand people who rode
buses to escape New Orleans.

EVACUATED. WHEN BUSES DO ARRIVE, NEAR

RIOTS BREAK OUT FOR THE SEATS.

FRUSTRATION IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

we're all citizens that pay taxes. and
we deserve better treatment than

this.

MANY OF KATRINA'S REFUGEES ARE AT THE
SUPERDOME AND CONVENTION CENTER.

WHILE CONDITIONS ARE PRIMITIVE,
OFFICIALS SAY SURVIVORS ARE BEING FED.

BUT THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH BUSES TO
MOVE THEM AND ON THURSDAY THE MAYOR

ISSUED A DESPERATE "SOS" FOR MORE
RESOURCES.

(BRIDGE)

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SAYS THAT HELP
IS ON THE WAY, IN THE FORM OF

NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS, RELIEF SUPPLIES
AND MONEY.

MANY WHO HAVE MADE IT OUT OF NEW
ORLEANS ARE BRINGING WITH THEM

INCREDIBLE STORIES. THEY DESCRIBE A
CITY WHERE "MOB MENTALITY" HAS

TAKEN OVER.

(NATZ FLOOD)

FOUR DAYS AFTER KATRINA HIT, PEOPLE ARE
STILL WADING THROUGH FLOOD

WATERS. BUT THERE HAS BEEN SOME
PROGRESS, HELICOPTERS HAVE BEGUN

DROPPING GIANT SANDBAGS TO PLUG HOLES
IN THE LEVEES.

AND WHILE THAT MAY HELP SOLVE ONE MAJOR
PROBLEM...RESTORING ORDER IN THE

CRESCENT CITY...COULD BE MUCH MORE
DIFFICULT.

FOUR DAYS AFTER KATRINA HIT, PEOPLE ARE

STILL WADING THROUGH FLOOD

PROGRESS, HELICOPTERS HAVE BEGUN

AND WHILE THAT MAY HELP SOLVE ONE MAJOR
PROBLEM...RESTORING ORDER IN THE
