the call for help in the Gulf.

eight-foot pallets of medical supplies
to a charity hospital in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.
They include basic surgical items, new
born diapers, and supplies for cancer
patients.
The Earl-K-Long Center at least doubled
its number of patients in the last two
days.
A tractor-trailer carrying the supplies
is expected to make the drop-off in
Baton Rogue sometime tonight.

for a suspect after a woman was
murdered last night.

Nancy Drive in Northwest Roanoke.

After the shooting Reed's
daughter was reported missing, however
she has since been located.

checkpoint each week between now and

The goal is to get drunk drivers
off the street before they wreck and
have to be airlifted to the hospital.
Last year more than 20- people
were sent to the hospital every day
because of alcohol related accidents.
Every 26-hours, someone was

without getting a single win. 2005 is
a new start and Cal McCombs is counting
on a number of upperclassmen to lead
the way.

County product was hurt in the season
opener a year ago.
V-M-I hosted Davidson in the
season opener in front of the corps
which had plenty to cheer about early.
Senior Sean Mizzer would get the
year started right, bowling in from 4
yards out for the season's first
touchdown. The extra point was no
good, and V-M-I was up 6 to nothing.
The Keydet defense was stout all
afternoon. Kamau Hull would pick off
Davidson Q-B Ryan Alexander, turning in
a nice return to set up good field
position for the offense.
Wilson would take advantage as he
rolls out to his left, decides to keep
it, and that was a good call as he gets
into the endzone and puts the lead at
23 to zip going into the half.
