Police think she is with her

of Roanoke.
Reed is wanted by police for the
death of Asjah's mother yesterday.

Nancy Drive in Northwest Roanoke
shortly after 6 P-M.
Inside they found 34 year old
Sabrina Janella Reed dead inside.
Another person, 54 year old
Osborne Lee Vaughn was also shot. He
was taken to the hospital.

officer was taken to the hospital after
his cruiser crashed during a chase last
night.

Police say they pursued Ronald
Keeling after he failed to stop at a
checkpoint on Electric Road last night.
Keeling led police onto Colonial
Avenue, and onto the entrance ramp of
220 South where he struck an
embankment.
He kept driving, but was apprehended
a short distance from the scene.
The county officer lost control
while in pursuit and also struck an
embankment.
He was taken to the hospital, but
there's no word on his condition.
Keeling faces charges of D-U-I,
eluding police, reckless driving and
being a habitual offender.
Police say drugs and alcohol may
have been a factor.

force this Labor Day weekend --
strictly enforcing the laws on drunk
driving.

As part of Checkpoint Strikeforce
state and local police will be holding
at least one sobriety checkpoint every
week between now and the end of the
year.
The goal is to get drunk drivers
off the street before they wreck and
have to be airlifted to the hospital.
Last year more than 20- people
were sent to the hospital every day
because of alcohol related accidents.
Every 26- hours someone was
killed.

All the items donated will be
passed on to the Southwestern Virginia

however some traveled a little farther.
Michelle Sanchez is a refugee
from Louisiana, who lost everything in
the storm, but still came to donate 20

wraps on their record-breaking
fundraiser.

by police at a Christiansburg
restaurant after a two week manhunt is
headed for trial.

Greg Todd Akers this week on several
charges including kidnapping and use of
a firearm.
He's accused of abducting a man
and robbing him at gunpoint before
leaving him naked on the side of the
road in Montgomery County.
Akers is also facing several
federal drug charges.

Inside they found 34 year old
Sabrina Janella Reed dead inside.
Another person, 54 year old

Keeling after he failed to stop at a
checkpoint on Electric Road last night.
Keeling led police onto Colonial
Avenue, and onto the entrance ramp of
220 South where he struck an
embankment.
He kept driving, but was apprehended
a short distance from the scene.
The county officer lost control
while in pursuit and also struck an
embankment.
He was taken to the hospital, but
there's no word on his condition.
Keeling faces charges of D-U-I,
eluding police, reckless driving and
being a habitual offender.
Police say drugs and alcohol may
have been a factor.

weekend, police officers plan to be out
in full force cracking down on drunk
driving.

As part of Checkpoint Strikeforce
state and local police will be holding
at least one sobriety checkpoint every
week between now and the end of the
year.
The goal is to get drunk drivers
off the street before they wreck and
have to be airlifted to the hospital.
Last year more than 20- people
were sent to the hospital every day
because of alcohol related accidents.
Every 26- hours someone was
killed.

But the roller coaster, along with
all the other rides and games came to a
halt in 19- 86, when Lakeside Amusement
Park closed its gates for the last
time.

(END SOT) Lakeside Amusement Park was a Salem
landmark for 66 years. When it opened
in 1920 it featured a roller coaster
and a swimming pool which was the main
attraction. That closed in the 1960's.
In September 1986, Lakeside announced
it was closing. Owners said they could
no longer compete with larger amusement
parks. Attendance dropped, and they
said the park just wasn't bringing in
enough money.

A thousand people visited Lakeside on
its final day, October 19th, 1986.
