That's why the organizers of
Roanoke's first ever Stroll-A-Thon were
pleased to see the large response this
afternoon at Garst Mill Park.

The event was developed to fund
research that might one day cure
children afflicted with Rett Syndrome.

The rare neurological disorder
affects nearly 15-thousand kids in the
U-S, most of whom are young girls.

The disorder robs children of
their communication and motor skills.

All the money raised today will

be donated to the Rett Syndrome
Research Foundation.
