SS=Fatal Accident We have some traffic information to

Traffic Alert Banner pass along.

Alleghany County authorities are on the
scene of a fatal tractor trailer
accident.

It happened just after 2 A-M on
Interstate 64 at milemarker 8.

Officials say the tractor trailer went
over the overpass and landed on Indian
Draft Road. As a result, Indian Draft
Road at the Callahan end is closed.
Also, the right lane of of I-64 east is
closed. Authorities say they're not
sure how long the roads will be closed,
but they estimate it will take much of
the day to clean up the area.

GRAPHIC=Ophelia The coast of North Carolina is taking

a beating from Hurricane Ophelia--
which is bringing strong winds and a
storm surge more than 10- feet high.

Already, a foot of rain has fallen
in some areas.

Officials are concerned about heavy
flooding, especially in low-lying
areas.

More than 120-thousand customers have
lost electricity.

After criticism from its response to
Katrina, FEMA already has 250 workers
on the ground to help any possible
victims of Ophelia.

Ophelia's power is being felt this
morning along North Carolina's coast.

...as the powerful storm...ever so

Tarheel State. Ophelia's speed...or
lack of it...is of special

concern to forecasters. Already a foot
of rain has fallen in some

areas....and there's a possibility of
widespread flooding if the storm

continues to linger.

Ophelia's might can be seen... storm
surge..power outages...walk and

Following blistering criticism on how
it reacted to Hurricane Katrina,

the Federal Emergency Management Agency

workers are in position to help
victims. And while Ophelia is no

Katrina...no one wants to take any

chances.

If there's any bright side to this

to only brush the coast . But whether
that means residents here will

escape major property damage...and loss
of life...still remains to be

seen.

Traffic Alert Banner Alleghany County authorities are on the
scene of a fatal tractor trailer
accident.

It happened just after 2 A-M on
Interstate 64 at mile marker 8.

Officials say the tractor trailer went
over the overpass and landed on Indian
Draft Road. As a result, Indian Draft
Road at the Callahan end is closed.
Also, the right lane of I-64 east is
closed. Authorities say they're not
sure how long the roads will be closed,
but they estimate it will take much of
the day to clean up the area.

her time-- and that has coastal North
Carolina residents and officials
worried that the lingering storm will
bring heavy flooding.

Hurricane warnings continue from

Ophelia's already dropped a foot of
rain in some areas, and left 120-
thousand customers in the dark.

Meanwhile, FEMA has dispatched 250
workers to the region-- ready to help.

widespread flooding if the storm

continues to linger.

Following blistering criticism on how
it reacted to Hurricane Katrina,

the Federal Emergency Management Agency

If there's any bright side to this

that means residents here will

escape major property damage...and loss
of life...still remains to be

seen.

GRAPHIC=SCAM ALERT 7 Animation Today in your Scam Alert 7 Report - It

seems that every other day some one
sends me the investment opportunity of
a life time in my e-mail. Unfortunitly
its one of the most common Internet
stock frauds called the "pump and
dump". Here's how it works:
Take E-Mail Picture E-mails and chat rooms will suddenly
tout a company - usually a penny stock-
as the latest "hot tip" and urge you
you to buy in quickly.

Unwitting investors then purchase the
stock in droves, creating high demand
and pumping up the price. Then the
fraudsters behind the scheme sell their
shares at the peak and stop hyping the

stock. The price plummets, and
investors lose their money.The SEC
suggests you do the following before
investing in any stock:
Take- "Consider the source " Consider the source. When you see an
offer on the Internet, assume it is a
scam, until you can prove through your
own research that it is legitimate.
Take- "Find Out Where the Stock Trades" Find Out Where the Stock Trades. Many
of the smallest and most thinly traded
stocks used in scams are traded in the
Over the Counter Market. OTC stocks
are generally the most risky and most
susceptible to manipulation
Take- "Independently Verify Claims" Independently Verify Claims. Before you
invest make sure the company's claims
about its financial health are true.
Take- "Research the Opportunity " Research the Opportunity. Always ask
for - and carefully read - the
prospectus or current financial
statements. Check the SEC's EDGAR
database to see whether the investment
is registered. Some smaller companies
don't have to register their securities
offerings with the SEC, so always check
with your state securities regulator as
well.
Take- "Always be Skeptical" Always be Skeptical. Whenever someone
you don't know offers you a hot stock

he or she benefit if I buy?
