is making sure those animals aren't

pummeling motorists for months- but one
school system is working to fill the
budget gap.

ago how rising gas prices could slow or
even end some bus trips in Craig
County.
Now, interim school
superintendent Ed Clymore says with
some budget transfers the school system
should be able to make ends meet.
Clymore also says there are
50-more students than originally
projected last year- which increases
the state money given to the county.
He says that more than
300-thousand dollars will help pay for
the rising fuel costs and some much
needed teaching supplies.
A public hearing will be held in
October to approve the transfer of
funds.

a stabbing.

morning at the Walmart on Mount- Cross-
Road.
Before police got to the scene,
they apprehended a 15-year-old male
with blood on his clothes in the
parking lot of a mortgage office.
Officers also found a 17-year-old
female lying in the parking with wounds
to her neck and face.
She was transported to Danville
Regional Medical Center with non-life
threatening injuries.
Investigators say the motive at
this time is unclear.

The astronauts blasted off on April 11,

disaster.
On the third day of the voyage, an

of three astronauts on the line.
NASA scientists scrambled to find a way
to get the crippled spaceship home.
It re-entered the earth's atmosphere,
safely splashing down on April 17th.

pummeling motorists for months- but one
school system is working to fill the
budget gap.

ago how rising gas prices could slow or
even end some bus trips in Craig
County.
Now, interim school
superintendent Ed Clymore says with
some budget transfers the school system
should be able to make ends meet.
Clymore also says there are
50-more students than originally
projected last year- which increases
the state money given to the county.
He says that more than
300-thousand dollars will help pay for
the rising fuel costs and some much
needed teaching supplies.
A public hearing will be held in
October to approve the transfer of
funds.

C-E-O Dennis Kozlowski and ex- finance
chief March Swartz are scheduled for
sentencing today in New York City.
They were convicted of stealing
millions of dollars, and
face up to 30 years in prison.
The pair was also accused of
manipulating the company's stock price
by lying about Tyco's finances.
