Yesterday Nascar handed out their
penalties, and no one will miss a race
right now.

But they will be paying a good
amount of money.

Robby Gordon was fined 35 thousand
dollars and 50 championship points for
his run-in with Michael Waltrip, who
got hit with a 10-grand fine and had 25
points taken away.

Kasey Kahne was the only other
driver who got fined for an on-track
incident.

His crash, bang and park on the
fender with Kyle Busch, had 25 grand
taken out of his pocket and 25 points
as well.

All 3 were cited with actions
detrimental to stock car racing.

When hurricane Katrina hit the
Gulf Coast the first person Frank
Beamer thought of was his former
punter.

FRANK BEAMER

Vinnie Burns and his family are
all from the New Orleans area and
reside just outside of the city in
Slidell, Louisiana. Their house is
just 20 minutes from the Superdome, and
to date neither Vinnie nor any other
family members have been allowed to
return back to their home to access the

damage.

BITE OF VINNIE

He is hoping things will be
better than the images he has seen on
TV.

Like thousands of others - his
first evacuation stop was Houston,
Texas.

BITE OF VINNIE

Perhaps nothing has bit home
harder with Burns than the images of
the Super Dome and the possibility that
it may have to be torn down.

He started his first high school
game in that building and played his
final college game in the dome, as
well.

BITE OF VINNIE Vinnie's dad is a
Sugar Bowl commitee member and it
appears the most likely destination for
that bowl game is Baton Rouge at LSU.
