the jury, though it won't start
deliberating until tomorrow morning.

charged with first degree murder in the

death of 57 year old Estel Singleton.

He's accused *CG locator Montgomery Co. of shooting and robbing Singleton at April 1997 the Ironto reststop back in 1997.

Pritchett was originally
convicted of the murder, but it was
overturned by the Virginia Supreme
Court.

The jury will begin deliberating
at 9 am.

number one problem at Virginia's rest
stops are theft and robberies, not
murders.

That prompted the state to spend
nearly seven hundred thousand dollars
on new security measures.

The state also cut back trees, put in

the state.

There is talk of actually building a
State Police office at each of those
areas.

blocked both Northbound lanes near the
Hollins exit.

Police say Patrick Golden of
Christiansburg was traveling southbound
when he crossed the median into the
northbound lanes where he struck the
side of an oncoming tractor trailer.

Golden was taken to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.

Police advise avoiding the area for
several hours to allow cleanup and the
re-opening of the blocked lanes.

First Tee of Roanoke Valley program -
was officially christened today at its
grand opening.

The first tee program teaches
youth - who normally would not have the

golf - golf skills as well as life

The facility is located on four
acres of land near Westside Elementary
school in Northwest Roanoke.

Already more than 100 youth have
