Buses were dispatched with
hand-held radios, and there were other
inconveniences for the staff.

He points out the entire building
cost $1.9 million to build a year ago,

new sub-division in northern Rockbridge
County has withdrawn his rezoning
application.

August Bill Landes wanted to rezone 180
acres of farmland into residential
land.
Originally, he had planned on
building townhouses, duplexes and more
than one hundred single family homes.
Landes still has the right to
subdivide the land for duplexes or
single family homes.
Since he withdrew his
application, a public hearing before
the Board of Supervisors scheduled for
September 26th has been canceled.

Blacksburg Saturday afternoon, the
Jackets may mistake Lane Stadium for
the Orange Bowl.
The Virginia Tech student government
association has designated the matchup
as the "orange effect" game and has
been selling t-shirts since late August
for the occasion.
The tees are a Virginia product
done by Virginians. The Sayre
Corporation in Buena Vista has printed
nearly 25 thousand of the short sleeved
shirts.
