GRAPHIC=Shooting Danville Police are investigating
a triple shooting.
Officers were called to the 900
block of Halafax Street last night
where they found a vehicle occupied by
two males.
Both had gun shot wounds to
their heads.
Police later were called to Robin
Hood Drive where a third victim had
been shot in the hand.
Authorities say there was a
confrontation between the three at the
Robin Hood Drive residence.
All three were taken to Danville
Regional Medical Center and treated for
their injuries.

in northern Rockbridge County could be
on hold.
After the developer withdrew his
rezoning application.

August Bill Landes wanted to rezone 180
acres of farmland into residential
land.
Originally, he had planned on
building townhouses, duplexes and more
than one hundred single family homes.
Landes still has the right to

application, a public hearing before
the Board of Supervisors scheduled for
September 26th has been canceled.

helping two people who lost everything
to Hurricane Katrina rebuild their
lives in Virginia.

searching for a man who's led them on
several high-speed chases.
The latest chase, which occured
yesterday, wrecked a sheriff's deputy's
car.

The officer spotted a stolen car
at this gas station on Route 29 near
Chatham.
He gave chase but wrecked his
cruiser when he hit a small building at
the intersection of Climax Road and
Throughtown Road ... the deputy wasn't
injured.
Police are looking for 34-year-old
Charles Van Hooker.
He faces felony charges in three
jurisdictions.

reassure residents that a stabbing over
the weekend was NOT related to any gang
activity.

A 17-year-old girl was stabbed in
the face and neck while sitting in her
car in the Wal-Mart parking lot early
Sunday.
A 15-year-old boy has been
arrested and charged with the attack.
Rumors have been flying about the
motive for the stabbing ... but police
say it was nothing more than an
attempted carjacking.

are under investigation.
State Police are investigating
Allen Taylor, who served about five
years, and Terry Alley, who served for
a few months and is now currently
running for Sheriff.
