GRAPHIC=AMHERST/GLASS We begin this morning in the Hill

City as Lynchburg played host to a
battle of unbeatens with E.C. Glass
taking on Amherst County.

Both teams have been impressive
in the early weeks of the season and
Amherst came in looking to protect a
wicked streak - before last night - the
Lancers were a gawdy 9-and-0 against
Triple A teams since dropping to the
Seminole.

*CG ffeloc Lynchburg
Amherst Co. vs. E.C. Glass This was all knotted up at 7 at
the halftime break.

Amherst in the third lets Pierre
Tinsley hand off to Alonzo Poe - who
slips through traffic - and eventually
takes the rock 50 yards downfield
before Carlton Phipps of EC Glass
knocks the ball loose. It's recovered
by the Toppers Antonio Mays - who run
it back to put the ball back in
possession of the home team.

Glass would then let Justin
Devaul drop back and look for Tee
Anderson - but instead he finds Nathan
Duff who gets the interception. The
entire third quarter was back and forth
with the defenses dominating.

Now in fourth still tied at 7 - a
heavy rain made an unexpected apperance
at City Stadium - but Tinsley and Poe
wouldn't let it slow them down as Poe
gets in from the 2 yard line to make it
14-to-7 Amherst.

Amherst would get another pick
and another score for insurance.
Vincent Moore finds a hole in the
middle and he takes it 30 yards for the
score.

The Lancers win 21-to-7 and hand
the Toppers their first loss of the
season.

George Washington vs. Franklin Co. The GW Eagles were getting revved :00 up for the second half as they trailed

GW will get started with T.J.
Price handing off to Haylen Murphy from
the fourty yard line and he squirts
through the line untouched, picks up
speed and Murphy rumbles for the
touchdown to tie the game at 14-all.

But Frankiln County would come
back with a little Trickery. From the
35 - DJ Willis hands off to Antonio
Terry, he gets it to JT Edwards and he
fools them all - pulling up and laying
out the long bomb down the middle of
hte field to Mark Kent who gets all the
way down to the 10.

Two plays later Willis keeps and
jukes his way in for the walk-in score
on the run. It's now 20-to-14 Franklin

The two teams would trade scores

Travis Trapley on the left flat
crossing the middle. He fights his way
all the way down to the Franklin County
