On Monday, just after midnight,
someone kicked in the door of the house
Grogan and Barnett shared on Syracuse
Avenue and fired multiple rounds at
Grogan.
The 27-year old victim died later
at the hospital.
Police have not reported any
arrests.

More than 20 new city and county
police officers graduated yesterday
from Roanoke's 55th Police Academy.
Among them was the son of Roanoke
city police seargent Manuel Bocanegra
Manual Bo-cuh-NAY-gruh.
Bocanegra is the former school
resource officer reassigned within the
department last year, after raising
questions about the under-reporting of
school violence.
The two men say the incident is
behind them.
The father and son team won't get to
work together as much as they'd like.
They work different shifts, and Manuel
Bocanegra is set to retire in March.

of animals still roaming the streets of
New Orleans need our help.

soon after the hurricane hit the Gulf
coast.
Within days- the group managed to
gather volunteers, two-truckloads of
supplies and ten-thousand dollars to

Contractors yesterday explained
what it would take to move the nearly
200- year- old building.
A hospital and other buildings
have taken over the site- making it
hard for visitors to find.
After removing the front portico
and balconies- the structure would be
rolled onto a dolly system.
Traffic lights and trees along
several streets would have to be
removed.
Preparing the house to move would
take two months.
Actually moving it would take two
weeks.
All that for a price tag of just
under five- million dollars.
The museum board will ultimately
decide what happens to the building.

person of interest in the disappearance
of a Virginia college student, but
yesterday he was arraigned on seperate
charges.

Friday The 38- year- old is charged with
16- counts of possession of child
pornography.
Authorities say some of the
videos found on Fawley's computers
include children as young as one- year-
old involved in sexual acts.
Fawley is a person of interest in
the disappearance of 17- year- old
Taylor Behl.
Her mother calls Fawley's
lifestyle "creepy" and says she's
pleased he's in jail.

The fire started Sunday afternoon
around 3 o-clock in a double-wide
trailer on Howlett Street.
The trailer had been converted to
a kennel by Junior Horton and his
family.
Investigators say the fire was an
accident, but they haven't figured out

for the Future."
It will help shield low- to
moderate-income students from tuition
hikes over their four years at the
university.
Students from families making

between 30 and 75-thousand dollars a
year will get extra help to offset any
increases.
