Contractors yesterday explained
what it would take to move the nearly
200- year- old building.

A hospital and other buildings
have taken over the site- making it
hard for visitors to find.

After removing the front portico
and balconies- the structure would be
rolled onto a dolly system.

Traffic lights and trees along
several streets would have to be
removed.

Preparing the house to move would
take two months.

Actually moving it would take two
weeks.

All that for a price tag of just
under five- million dollars.

The museum board will ultimately

has approved a 22 per cent rate
increase for customers of
Craig-Botetourt Electric Cooperative.

But they'll actually get a small
one-time refund.

That's because the customers have
been paying an even higher INTERIM
rate pending the S-C-C's decision.

The cooperative serves 6-thousand
