as they sped away from a traffic
checkpoint in Alleghany County.

Police aren't sure which one was
driving, but they do know both men had
suspended operators' licenses.

One of them, 21-year-old Garry
Hunter, Jr. was dead at the scene.

The other, 24-year-old Antonio
"Duke" Hill died later at Roanoke
Memorial.

Pontiac Firebird on Interstate 64 when
the vehicle crossed the median nearly
two-miles from the checkpoint- and
struck a guardrail- throwing the men

In Vinton, a truck driver faces
charges after a morning accident closed
down part of Walnut Avenue for nearly
six-hours.

48-year-old Benton Jefcoat
jeff-coat of Bedford County was charged
with failure to obey a highway sign.

Police say Jefcoat was driving a
Norfolk Southern bucket truck when he
hit a train trestle this morning.

That blocked both lanes of Walnut
Avenue near the Vinton -Roanoke City
line.
