them on several recent high speed
chases.

Hooker last night in Gretna. He
refused to stop for deputies and
reportedly led

them on a 16 minute pursuit, which
ended after he lost control of his car
and struck a fence on Music Street.

Last Week Last week deputies said Hooker was
spotted gassing up a stolen car on
Route 29 near Chatham.

That led to a pursuit that resulted
in an officer running off the road and
striking a building.

The deputy was not hurt, but his

damages.

Hooker is being held without bond
on charges, including car theft and
eluding police.

fatal accident last night on Interstate
64 in Alleghany County.

They say the car involved sped
through a license check at an on-ramp
just minutes before, but there was NO
chase or pursuit involved.

Firebird crossed the median at milepost
25 near Clifton Forge, and struck a
guard rail, throwing two people out
before going down an embankment.
