ATTENTION DEFECIT HYPERACTIVITY
DISORDER..... OR A-D-H-D.

BUT NOW THE GOVERNMENT IS TELLING
DOCTORS THE DRUG MAY CAUSE CHILDREN TO

HAVE SUICIDAL THOUGHTS.

(SOT-Dr. Harold Koplewicz/NYU Medical

"this is an important warning, it's
good for parents to know about.

It's good for parents and doctors to

THE F-D-A HAS DECIDED TO ISSUE A BLACK

ADVISORY.

IT COMES AFTER NEW RESULTS FROM A
CLINICAL TRIAL INVOLVING MORE THAN

13-HUNDRED YOUNG PEOPLE WHO WERE GIVEN
STRATTERA.

FIVE REPORTED SUICIDAL THOUGHTS AND ONE
ACTUALLY ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

(STANDUP: Dr. David Marks/CBS NEWS/New

WHILE ANY SUICIDAL THOUGHTS OR ATTEMPTS

we live in a very conservative and
cautious period of time right now

when it comes to psychiatric

that

if we air on the side of caution that
will be ok, but we don't want to

IT WAS JUST RECENTLY THE F-D-A ADDED
BLACK BOX WARNINGS TO SEVERAL

ANTI-DEPRESSANTS.

THERE WERE REPORTS THOSE DRUGS ALSO LED
TO SUICIDAL THOUGHTS IN A SMALL

NUMBER OF CHILDREN.

AS IN THAT CASE DOCTOR HAROLD KOPLEWICZ
SAYS PARENTS WITH CHILDREN ON

STRATTERA SHOULD BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT
THEY DO NEXT.

(SOT-Dr. Harold Koplewicz/NYU Medical

"if a teenager or a child is taking
strattera and it's working they

should be talking to their physician
but they shouldn't stop taking the

medication."

BUT... PARENTS SHOULD WATCH FOR ANY

with Las Vegs, but early next year
Elvis will leave not only the building

The largest private collecttion
of Elvis memorabilia in the world can
be found at the Elvis-a-rama museum.

From movie posters to love
letters and even a few of the King's
famous cars, fans could fest their eyes
on Presley's belongings.

But now, Elvis-A-Rama's being
sold - to the company that already owns
85-percent of the Elvis name.

The memorabilia's being sold, as
well.

Although the current owner does
hope to open up another Elvis museum in
one of the King's favorite places -
Hawaii.
