it started, but the home is a total

The two residents were not

fire around 1:45 this morning.
Investigators say it started on a
couch on the front porch.

A Texas grand jury today
re-indicted DeLay on charges of money
laundering and conspiring to launder
money.
Last week, DeLay was charged by
another grand jury with conspiracy to
violate campaign finance laws.
Defense lawyers asked a judge
to throw out the first
indictment, arguing it was based on a
statute that didn't take
effect until a year after the alleged
acts.
In a statement, DeLay denounced
District Attorney Ronnie Earle, saying
Earle had "stooped to a new low with

those killed in a four-vehicle accident
in Louisa County Saturday night.

on Route-15, northeast of
Charlottesville.

triggered when a car tried to pass a
pickup truck.
The driver of that car died on the
scene, along with two others in a
minivan -- 38-year-old Bridget Stoope

New court documents name three
women-
one of them a deputy of five years who
says the Sheriff stated He liked
uniforms to be fitted.. said she had a
nice ass and ought to show it off."
Rhonda Johnson states that as he
spoke the sheriff put his hand on the
inside of her thigh.
Johnson also said she tried to
take her own life in part because of
the harassment and was admitted to St.
Albans this past August. Within a
couple of weeks, she said she was
notified that her job had been
terminated.
In a News 7 exclusive interview two
weeks ago we heard from the former
public information officer at the
department.

California.

The suspect fired on police and hid

dozens of central Virginia businesses
over the last two months is behind
bars, thanks to some persistent police
work.

VO-NAT 45-year-old Donald Ray Todd, Junior was
arrested last week after police caught
him in the act of breaking into a
lighting store on Timberlake Road.

Todd had been under surveillance
after a Campbell County deputy stopped
him for suspicious activity a week
earlier.
Police believe Todd was breaking
into the businesses to feed a drug
habit.
He's charged with 16 burglaries and
is a suspect in at least a dozen others

the start of the Major League Baseball
Playoff's. It was also the first off
day for Alan Trammell.
He was fired yesterday as the
manager of the Detroit Tigers.
Trammell who was a star player for the
club couldn't turn the team around, his
record as a manager was 186 wins and
300 losses. Detroit will interview
former Pirates and Marlins skipper Jim
Leyland about the opening.
Plus, last night the Dodgers and
Jim Tracy agreed to part ways. The
Dodgers finished 20 games under 500
this season. It was the franchise's
second-worst season since moving from
Brooklyn in 1958.

construction on a half-mile long
pipeline to provide city water to
people along Bell Town and Draper
Roads.
Local wells have had problems with
contaminants leaching into the water
from the city's old landfill, which
closed more than ten years ago.
Construction should be finished by
December.
The 18-hundred dollar fee to
connect to the water line will be
waived for the affected residents.

eerie sight across much of the globe.

moon masked the sun leaving only a
fiery ring over Spain and Portugal.
The annular eclipse was also
visible as a *partial* eclipse to most
of Europe, eastward to India and
southward to Africa.
Annular eclipses sometimes pass
unnoticed because the remaining part of
the sun is so bright the environment is
not noticeably dimmed.
Today's event was considered rare
and spectacular.
