killed in a four-vehicle crash in
Louisa County Saturday night.

have created a wake that tipped the
ethan allen over . And one
investigator speculated that because
the
seats were not fixed to the deck, they
may have shifted to one side,
further causing the boat to tip.

in a stampede.

got away from deputies who had taken
her to a hospital.
Gibson's restraints were removed
for a medical procedure.
She escaped after saying she needed to
use the restroom.

Saturday Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus
:00 Vick has been named the ACC
Co-Offensive Back of the Week for his
performance on Sayturday against the
West Virginia Mountaineers.
The redshirt junior from Newport
News racked up 251 yards of total
offense and three touchdowns in
Virginia Tech's 34-17 win in
Morgantown.
Vick completed 15-of-17 passes
for 177 yards and two scores and also
ran for a career-high 74 yards and a
touchdown on 12 carries. He shares the
award with Wake Forest quarterback Cory
Randolph.

Hokies are home for a Noon kickoff
against Marshall. Tech officials
announced today that they will NOT know
until Friday at the earliest if the
game will be televised by ESPN. The
Major League baseball playoffs are
ESPN's top priority this week.
We do know that the UVa game with
Florida State on Saturday October 15th
will be a night game at Scott Stadium
in Charlottesville.
The Cavs and Seminoles will hook
up at 7:45 that night on ESPN.
This Saturday UVa's game at
Boston College kicks-off at 1pm.

face Charleston Southern with kickoff
set for one. This past weekend the
Keydets got their first ever conference
opening win over Liberty 10 to 7.

For his performance in that win
Quarterback Jonathan Wilson was named
the Big South Offensive Player of the
week. He accounted fro 143 yards
including a career long 34 yard
touchdown run. Wilson the Rockbridge
County product helped snap V-M-I's 4
game conference losing streak.
Wilson had help on the defensive
side of the ball from Linebacker Justin
Huggard. He was named the Defensive
Player of the week. The senior from
Robert E. Lee High had 14 tackles and a
pick against Liberty. This is the 3rd
time in 5 weeks that he was won the
Defensive Player of the Week award.

ENG#=3 heads to the midwest this weekend for
race four of the 10 race playoff.
Yesterday at Talladega - the only
one of the 10 contenders to ever win at
the track was knocked out as soon as
his day started.
Mark Martin finished 41st in the
race and dropped to ninth in the Chase
standings.
Afterwards the 46 year old
veteran decided to rely on his faith to
explain his bad day.

the market again.

ended her five month engagement to 26-
year- old Greek shipping heir, Paris
Latsis.
In a statement released to a
spokesperson, Paris said that she's
"just not ready for marriage".
The couple got engaged last spring,
when Latsis gave Hilton a 24- carat,
five million- dollar diamond engagement
ring.
No word yet on whether Hilton will
get to keep it.
