says he fired Rhonda Johnson in late
August, because she fired her Sheriff's
Department-issued weapon inside her
home.
She's one of the women accusing the
Sheriff of sexually harassing her.

court today, George McMillan denies
making comments about Johnson's
buttocks, neither did he touch her
thigh, McMillan says.
McMillan also denies he sexually
harassed Lespia King- the woman who
filed the lawsuit- but in court
documents admits that he may have
placed his arm around her shoulder on
occasion or reciprocated a hug- as he
says he does with employees male and
female alike.
The Sheriff also denies asking King
to sit on his lap or give him a kiss.

Glad Tidings Christian School Principal << Six people from Glad Tidings
Christian School in Roanoke were on a
trip to King's Dominion, when a car
sideswiped their minivan Saturday night
on Route 15.
These pictures were taken at the
park just hours before the accident.
10-year-old John Thomas Mosier of
Roanoke and 38-year-old Bridget Stoops
of Boones Mill both died at the scene,
along with the driver of the car.
Stoops' seven-year-old son, Cameron,
survived the crash.
But, he's now an orphan, having lost
his father in an auto accident in May.

Little has been written about the
role chaplains played in the Civil War,
but a group in Lynchburg is hoping to
change that.

They announced today plans to
establish the National Civil War
Chaplains Museum and Research Center on
the grounds of Liberty University.
The center will not only display
artifacts and photographs, but also
serve as a clearinghouse for scholars
to research that aspect of the war.
The school's leasing them the
space, but they need to raise more than
1-point-5 million dollars to open by
the fall of 2007.
