peacefully.

Patrick Hunter Gauldin was taken
into custody around 11 A.M after a
short standoff.

It all started when The Henry
County Sheriff's Office located a
stolen pickup truck from Eden, North
Carolina at the King's Court Motel.

The 2003 gray Toyota pickup was

involved earlier in the morning in an
armed robbery of a store located in
Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Mr. Gauldin was taken to Memorial
Hospital of Martinsville and Henry
County for a possible drug overdose.

Gauldin faces several felony
charges including robbery.

File Tape Commonwealth's Attorney Gordon
Hannett is asking the Virginia Supreme
Court for another hearing.

When Hannett was called to active
duty in Iraq he appointed a deputy to
run his office.

But, Circuit Judge Ray Grubbs
appointed ANOTHER attorney to take
over.


Last month the Supreme Court
ruled in favor of Grubbs.

But the situation is far from
settled and has the town talking.

Hannet's choice, Dennis Nagel, is
still running the office.

The Virginia Supreme Court will
decide at the end of the month whether
to hold another hearing.

approval before going forward.

Park yesterday afternoon.

He says he still hopes to create
a family vacation destination resort,
but has not yet developed specific

plans.

creative team to begin designing the
attraction.

museum that honors some forgotten
heroes of the Civil War are underway in
Lynchburg.

money for the National Civil War
Chaplains Museum and Research Center.

They'll be leasing space on the
campus of Liberty University, but need
close to two million dollars to get
things running by the fall of 2007.

three women who came forward this week
accusing the sheriff of sexual
harassment worked for him.

Another interviewed for a job with

the sheriff.

Their statements were in support of
former deputy Lespia King's lawsuit.

In court documents, Sheriff
McMillan denies he sexually harassed
King, but admits that he may have
placed his arm around her shoulder on
occasion or reciprocated a hug- as he
says he does with employees male and
female alike.

The Sheriff also denies asking
King to sit on his lap and give him a
kiss.

He says he did not maintain a
hostile work environment or one charged
with sexual harassment.
