killed one woman in Roanoke County
early this morning.

Corrina Palmer died after running
off Bent Mountain Road shortly after
midnight.

Her Jeep Cherokee stuck a large
rock, rolled over an embankment, and
landed on its roof.

Police say weather was a factor
and that the victim wasn't wearing a
seat belt.

County were supposed to play football
at Victory Stadium last night.

But yesterday afternoon, the
decision was made to move the game to
Franklin County High School.

The reasons behind it are not
exactly clear.

The city of Roanoke says the

field at Victory Stadium was ok to play
on.

But the athetlic directors
decided the field was too soggy and
that is why the game was moved.

Fans say fair enough, but then-
why move it to Rocky Mount where the
conditions were also less than ideal.

GRAPHIC= A Bedford woman is lucky be alive



this morning after being shot twice by
a burglar.

It happened on Ross Road in
Stewartsville last night.

Police say Bradley Pritchett
broke into the woman's home and shot
her in the chest and leg.

She was able to call 9-11, where
police arrest Pritchett.

Pritchett did know the woman, but
police say he was only an aquiantance.

He is being held without bail and
the victim is in stable condition at
Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

set this week.

Mark DeTournillon de turn-neon on six
counts of manslaughter.

The most severe are two charges
of aggravated manslaughter.

In all, DeTournillon was indicted
on seven different counts.
