rescue one person from an apartment
fire.

A fire broke out in an apartment
complex near the corner of Memorial
Avenue and Mountain View Terrace around
9:30 last night.
Neighbors feared three people were
trapped inside, only one had to be
rescued by firefighters.
There were no injuries, but the
apartment suffered extensive damage.
The Red Cross is providing food
and shelter to those forced out.
The cause is under investigation.

family has shocked neighbors.

the Evans home.
He is charged with three counts
of capital murder.
However investigators are not yet

bars after leading police on a high
speed car chase, with his infant child
inside.

Roanoke Street in downtown
Christiansburg.
Police say they were trying to
pull over 32-year-old Leroy Robinson
for drugs, when Robinson took off.

Police say Robinson then turned
onto Den Hill Road and into this park
-- where he ditched his car and ran
into the woods.
A state police helicopter and k-9
units were called-in to help search for
Robinson.
About three hours later,
authorities found him and his 3-month
old child inside a range house. DO NOT
SHOW WHITE HOUSE IN VIDEO!!!!
Police say Robinson surrendered
peacefully and it appears the child was
NOT harmed.
Officers say a woman was also in
the car with Robinson, but somehow got
out during the chase either by force or
own her own.
She was airlifted to Roanoke
Memorial hospital for her injuries, but
will NOT face any charges

should be serving as Floyd County's
Commonwealth's Attorney.
Dennis Nagel is still the ACTING
Commonwealth's Attorney.
Despite an opinion from the state
Supreme Court three weeks ago
indicating that Stephanie Murray-Shortt
was the properly appointed substitute
for the elected prosecutor, nothing has
changed since then.

notice that he intends to ask the
Supreme Court for a re-hearing.
The court is apparently waiting
for that petition to be filed. In the
meantime, a stay remains in effect,

museum for downtown Roanoke.
The project is getting a new
contractor.

Iraq, and sharing his story from the
front lines.

injured in Iraq on June 22nd when his
humvee hit a landmine.

comrades suffered just minor injuries.
He is happy to be home in

Last Month Ben Fawley has been charged with
possession of a firearm while a
convicted felon.
Under state law- police can't
discuss the details of that felony.
The 38- year- old is currently in
jail awaiting trial for possession of
child pornography.
Police filed the latest charges
while investigating the death of Taylor
Behl.
Her body was discovered in a
shallow grave in Mathews County last
week.
Investigators say Fawley was in
possession of a firearm before she
disappeared.
Officials say they won't make an
arrest in Behl's case until they know
how she died.
