Virginia Republican Party against a
former insurer has been dismissed.
The state GOP sued Union
Insurance Company for not covering a
settlement paid to the Democrats over
the Republican eavesdropping scandal.
A federal judge today ruled
the company was under no obligation to
pay for what amounted to crimes
committed by agents of the party.
Counting fees paid to its
lawyers, the state Republican Party
paid nearly a million dollars to settle
a lawsuit several Democratic
legislators filed over two intercepted
conference calls in 2002.

Even after his fourth time before
a grand jury, it's still unclear
whether Karl Rove will face charges.
The White House Aid today
testified for what is likely to be the
last time in the investigation into the
leaking of undercover CIA agent's
Valerie Plame's identity.
His lawyer says prosecutors told
Rove they have yet to decide whether to
charge him.
Earlier they'd warned there was
no guarantee that he would escape
indictment.
When asked today if Rove still
has the president's confidence, White
House spokesman Scott McClellan said
only that Rove "continues to do his
duties."

time to repair or replace an old,
one-lane bridge near Moneta.

a car had hit a truss on this bridge
over Stony Fork Creek on Rucker Road.
The damage has caused the bridge
to sag, and it's no longer safe for
cars or people to cross.
Residents along the road are

week whether ir can repair the bridge
or if a new one needs to be built.
