Domino today returned to his New
Orleans home.

It's the first time he's gotten
to see first hand what Hurricane
Katrina did to his Ninth Ward
neighborhood since he was rescued from
the house.

The storm ruined almost
everything inside the house where he
and his wife raised their kids.


CDs and other memorabilia from
decades of fame in the music business
are strewn about.

Despite the destruction, Fats
says he wants to stay in the city he

after a weekend accident.

o'clock yesterday afternoon at the
intersection of Brugh's Mill Road and
route 11.

Police say 17-year-old Sarrah
Richelle Sass of Buchanan pulled out in
front of an oncoming truck.

Sass died shortly after the

accident.

The driver of the truck was
treated and released.

climbing a hill.

A pin that held the two together
failed, and the wagon began rolling
backwards.

September 23 Thirty-seven year old Juan Robles
Gutierrez was transporting patients
fleeing a nursing home when the bus
caught fire and exploded.

Twenty-three passengers died.

Police say their investigation found
that Gutierrez did not help anyone off
the bus.

The Mexican national was taken into
federal custody on an immigration
violation five days after the Sept. 23
explosion near Dallas.

along Interstate 5-81 in Roanoke is now
resting comfortably in Blacksburg.

Virginia Tech Video This 18 pound female cub was
captured in Roanoke last Thursday.

She's now being held on the
Virginia Tech campus by researchers
equipped to handle bears.


The Department of Game and Inland
Fisheries will decide the cub's fate in
the next two weeks.

Game Wardens will either release
her back into the wild or keep her at
Virginia Tech through the winter.

Either way, researchers say she
has about a 60-percent chance of
surviving.

Mountain Lake.

Officials say the lake population
has grown to the point where it needs a
full-service fitness and wellness
facility.

The Smith Mountain Athletic Club
will be located in the Westlake Town
Center.

Construction is set to begin next
year.

is on solid footing in the the first
Bowl Championship Series rankings of
the season.

three in the first BCS poll behind USC
and Texas. There were some who thought
Tech might overtake Texas, but as you
can see Georgia almost bypassed the
Hokies.

Alabama is a strong number five,

Ohio yesterday offered their fabulous
fruit as canoes.

Those who paddled in the pumpkin
regatta say the monsters may float but
they're not stable and are even harder
to steer.

Some contestants went so far as
